Make a team. Join a league.
Friendly league nights at local pools, with teams, schedules and bragging rights. We are building them city by city.

Leagues are not open yet. The waitlist is how we decide where to start.
How it will work
- Tell us where you are. Add your city and the way you want to join.
- Find your team. Join a team, bring friends, or sign up on your own.
- Play a season. Regular game nights at a pool near you.
- Hang out afterward. Talk about the game away from the pool deck.
This is the plan, not a promise. Details can change as we test with real pools.
Three ways to play
Social
New players, families and mixed groups. Easy-going games, mostly at the surface or in shallow water, with soft gear. Come for the fun, stay for the friends.
Recreational
For confident swimmers who want more game. Regular league nights, real teams and standings, still all about a good time.
Advanced
For experienced players who want a tougher, faster game. Deeper water, sharper play and bragging rights on the line.
Names, ages and gear for each level are still being designed. Youth play is still being decided.
What a game night might look like
All of this is draft, not final.
- Teams: about 3 to 6 players per side, depending on the pool.
- Games: two halves with a short break. Shorter games for small pools or short time slots.
- Referees: a poolside referee, and a scorekeeper and timekeeper.
- Fouls: the same spirit as the simple rules: hands off, sticks low, be a good sport. League fouls get a short time out of the game.
- Standings: win, tie or loss points, with simple tie-breakers.
- Pool rules: every venue's own rules come first, and the venue must say yes.
Safety is part of the plan
Under 18? An adult is always watching. Anyone under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times while playing Pool Hockey. The adult stays at the pool, awake, and watches the water for the whole game. No adult, no game.
- A trained lifeguard on deck at every league session, plus a first-aid kit and a posted emergency plan.
- A signed waiver for every player. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.
- No breath-hold contests, ever. Players can come up whenever they want.
- No alcohol on the pool deck.
This is our plan for leagues. Our waivers and safety plans are being reviewed and are not final.
Our rules are a living draft. We are still testing them and getting them reviewed, and they will change. They are a starting point, not a substitute for adult supervision, swim lessons, or advice from a qualified aquatics-safety professional.

Questions people ask
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
For Social play, you need to be comfortable in the water where the game is played. Other levels are still being designed and may ask for more.
Do I need my own gear?
Not decided yet. Our first-generation gear is a mask or swim goggles, with fins optional and recommended. A snorkel and mouth guard are not required.
How much does it cost?
We have not set league prices yet. We will share them before sign-ups open.
Can kids play?
Anyone under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Youth leagues are still being decided.
What about waivers?
Every player signs one. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.
Is this an official underwater hockey league?
No. Pool Hockey leagues are friendly local leagues for our own easy-start game, which is inspired by underwater hockey. See the note below.
